O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. ~Psalm 16:5,6.

The perfect supper
Joan, Sarah, and Grace ate at Niffer's tonight. They brought back fried pickles for me. The combination of sour, salty, and fried is perfect - dill spears fried in a dillweed-seasoned batter - and probably cannot be improved upon!
The first time I ever had fried pickles was in Alabama at the original Ezell's Fish Camp on the Tombigbee River. Theirs are made from dill slices and are a bit greasy, but we loved them. Sour, salty, fried is a good combination. Just think, it all started with a healthy, good-for-you cucumber.
I have never, ever heard of fried pickles. My initial impression is not good, but I bet I'd like them.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I picked up the crochet book at the Amazon marketplace for cheap.
I've never heard of them either, but they look and sound pretty good! :-)
