Thanksgiving will be here soon

We're taking the week off school and resting and getting ready for Thanksgiving. Well, technically, we're only resting from school-work. There is yard-work, and house-work, and cooking and baking to do, and we will do all of that work.

Mom is sick, so we may end up having Thanksgiving dinner here or at Chuck and Kim's. I guess we'll have firmer plans by Wednesday.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family, too!

I stay at home the day after Tgiving and Christmas. I'd rather not have it, if I have to fight a crowd.

I'm staying home on Friday too. The sale prices are not worth the crowds, in my opinion. Maybe there won't be many people out at 3:00 in the morning though.

Thanks for the prayers for my mom, Donna and Michelle! She called last night to say that she felt like she was on the mend and will be fine for Thanksgiving at her home with her children and grandchildren.

Dana and Tracy, I hate shopping so much - even the on-line sales on Friday don't tempt me. But at 3:00 a.m. my insane family will be getting in line outside various stores to await the 6:00 a.m. opening of those establishments. And for what? A few sale items that may be gone by the time they reach the doors.

Honestly, I think the real appeal for them is the ritual of an obscenely early wake-up time, talking to strangers in the pre-dawn hours, and having breakfast at a greasy spoon diner before heading home around 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. It's all about tradition!
