O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. ~Psalm 16:5,6.

Irish Diamond Lace Shawl - finished
Mom's purple shawl is finished and ready to deliver to her. It was fun to knit, didn't use up nearly the amount of yarn I bought to make it, and feels warm but light when worn. (Project details here.)
The pattern is easy and uses only a few stitches: knit; purl; yarn over; knit 2 together; slip, slip, knit; and slip one, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over.
None of those stitches/techniques are anything fancy, and the pattern is fun to watch as it emerges. And every other row is just a purl row.
that is just BEAUTIFUL! would you say it's a hard pattern? I'm tempted, but I've never branched out beyond basic knitting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shawl, Laura - and I love the colour, too. You're so clever.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margo and Caroline!

Beautiful, beautiful... I love this. Your mother will be lovely in it, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautifl shawl. How talented are you!
ReplyDeleteI would never have the patience to knit something so intricate.

Laura, I know those stitches. Now I'm seriously tempted.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is lovely! And such a rich color of purple. Beautiful work.
