A Prisoner of Birth

Jeffrey Archer's book, A Prisoner of Birth is a perfect book for summer reading. Once begun it's difficult to put down without finishing it. So I read it as quickly as I could and now am foisting it on Jacy, Tom, Karin, and Mom.

Mr. Archer has deftly redone The Count of Monte Cristo in this story of Danny Cartwright and the crime for which he was framed. But even if I had not read Alexandre Dumas' book, I think I still would have found A Prisoner of Birth a page-turner.

I read A Prisoner of Birth last month and couldn't put it down, either. That man can tell a story.

Hi Laura. Sounds like a great read. Hope you're well. How are your socks coming along?

A page-turner is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the recommendation.

He certainly CAN tell a story, Anne. For years I read everything Archer wrote, then he went to prison, and I forgot about him until I saw this book at the library.

You'd probably enjoy this one on audio, Meg. My socks are not finished - how about yours?

Tracy, I don't think you'd be disappointed with this book - and I even forgot to knit while reading it!

I like Archer and didnt know he had a new one out. Then in addition to reading your review, I saw a copy strapped to the back of a biker's fancy motorcycle :)

I read everything Archer wrote in the 80's and early 90's.

I will get this for sure.
Thanks Laura!
