Espresso Tales

Espresso Tales is the second book in Alexander McCall Smith's Scotland Street series. This book continues the stories of the characters living and working in Edinburgh. I was very pleased with the continuation of the characters' lives and found it extremely difficult to put the book down.

I'm afraid to outline any of the plot, lest I spoil the story, so I'll just say that Alexander McCall Smith continues to delight and amaze me with his novels.

I just discovered his daily column in a British paper.... serializing the Corduroy Mansions.

McCall Smith is thoroughly entertaining and since I've just started with his mysteries, I have many years of good reading to come. I feel no need to rush.

Also, did you realize that #1 Detective Agency is going to be on TV on Sunday night? At least in my area.

I heard about Corduroy Mansions, but haven't read any chapters yet.

Yes, I've been reading reviews of the new HBO series of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency! We don't have HBO, but when it comes out on DVD we plan to buy it.

You'll have to tell me what you think of it!

Just got this from the library today. It has been a long time since I read the first in the series. I hope I can remember enough.

I think you will be able to catch up quickly, Cindy. It was quite a while for me, too, between the first book and the second. But Like I said, I enjoyed Espresso Tales a lot. The third one, not so much. And the fourth appears to be up there with the second.
