13 - 5 = empty

Glenn, Amy, Hayley, Abbey, and Madyson headed back to Illinois about three hours ago. Practically speaking, I know our house is not empty and quiet now. We still have eight people here. But there's no more baby babble. The door isn't opening and closing from little girls and boys running inside or outside. The kitchen counters are cleared of bottles and sippy cups. There's no bustle in the kitchen of meal preparation or meal clean-up. The TV isn't on for Glenn to watch a sports event, and I don't have Amy to chat with.

David said, "I know they just left a little while ago, but already I miss them and feel so sad."

Me, too.

I wonder if my mom is saying 9 - 7 = empty (Philip stayed home and didn't come with us), or if she's just feeling relief? :-)

I'll bet she's saying, "the house is so quiet and empty..." Mine always did when we went home after visiting her!

Donna, I wish Jeannine and I were related, too, but we *are* sisters in Christ, and I'm grateful for that!

Thanks for stopping by, Laura. I enjoyed this little post and know just how you feel. Your family is beautiful.

Oh, Laura, those little cheeks, those big beautiful eyes, those sweet, sweet smiles -- I imagine the house seems very, very empty right now. What beautiful little ones you have in your family. (Although it's easy to see where it comes from - you are just lovely!)
