Monkey socks for Mom
Over the weekend I finished a pair of Monkey socks for my mother. The yarn is a better blue than my camera will admit, and was purchased from a vendor at Rhinebeck three years ago.
Unfortunately, the skein was short a few yards of a toe, so I brought in a substitute yarn to finish up. Mom said she doesn't mind one sock toe being a bolder blue than the other (my mom is so gracious and sweet!), and I'm sure she'll wear them with closed-toe shoes.

I would like both of those shades of blue used in something awesome for me :):)

These are very nice socks! I have a pair of Monkeys, and they are one of my favourites, very comfortable. :o)
Charity, I made a pair for myself in Tofutsies sock yarn - fun to knit and comfortable to wear.
Karin, I'll have to find a pattern for you - I can use the rest of the blue used for the toe, but the other blue is aaallllll gone!
The bolder toe gives the pair character. And, they really are very pretty.
P.S. Tukes looked at me very seriously today and said, "Miss Waura said bwown (brown) is a cowor (color)." "Well, she's right," I replied.
I've had to do that before. No one will ever know. Pretty shade of blue--both of them.
