Surprise mail!

This afternoon I went out to get the mail and found this on the front porch:

It was a package from Carmon . She sent me a copy of Louis L'Amour's memoir, Education of a Wandering Man and Writings of a Deliberate Agrarian by Herrick Kimball.

Best of all, there was a newsy letter from her, written on this card (which might be the handiwork of Samantha ) :

I'm looking forward to enjoying my new reading material tonight!

So you *did* make the card! I love it. The picture of the woman spinning flax and reading is terrific. I spin (only wool, but hopefully flax someday) and knit, and while I can easily knit and read at the same time, I haven't yet learned to spin and read - but the picture on my card makes me hopeful!

Laura,
Did I know you moved to Alabama? I forget more than I remember these days.

Anyway, Welcome to Alabama! You're gonna love it.

My dear Laura...I'm so sorry it took so long to notice this post, but I'm glad your package arrived safely. You don't know how hard it was to give up that card! It was my favorite, so I knew I needed to share it with you.

Hugs,
Carmon
