Barefoot sandals

Joan asked me to make her some barefoot sandals.  I found a good pattern and it is free!  The pattern is called Goddess Barefoot Sandals by Julie King.  I appreciated the well-written pattern and the progress pictures.  It made it much easier for a crochet-novice like me to work them.  And the part I like best?  They're made with DMC Embroidery Floss!

Colorful blanket

Today I finished the blanket for a future grand-baby.  It was fun to mix and match colors and with the leftover yarn I can make another blanket or two - perhaps using the same pattern, or maybe making another baby ripple afghan.  Now if only the future parents will take my not-so-subtle hint and produce a baby to wrap up in this blanket, I'll be delighted!

Thank you, Alicia Paulson for designing such a lovely pattern!
